We are on our way!

Departure Day... well over to Vancouver at least.

Kelly worked until 2pm then headed home to finalize packing and await my arrival.

After working our way through some serious weather that was hitting the west coast, I arrived in YVR from Prince Rupert pretty much on schedule.  Sadly my commuting flight home was delayed an hour so after some checking of options, I was able to get on the 15:10  flight to Victoria. As we are listed on the 16:50 flight back to YVR, we knew this would be very tight considering I had to drive home and back!

Once home we managed to swap out clothes and electronics then double checked our lists to ensure nothing important was missed. (passports etc) Seven minutes later,  yes that's right... seven minutes later, after ditching my uniform & flight bag, we headed back to the airport to try and make the flight  over to Vancouver. Kelly handled the bag drop, I parked the car and then it was quickly through security. The Nexus cards worked great!

We sat down in the boarding lounge at 16:35 and had to wait for the plane to arrive. At this point we knew we had made it!  Had a quick flight over to YVR then off to grab our bags (With our last minute bag check in Victoria we benefited by having our bags offloaded first! Mine was already going around when we got to baggage claim!)

We then went over and checked into the Fairmont Airport hotel which is located right at the airport.  We quickly drop our gear and headed downstairs to meet Lauren & Kyle and off we went to the Flying Beaver for drinks & dinner. http://www.mjg.ca/flying-beaver/

All very tasty and after a few hours of work & wedding conversation we returned to the Fairmont to retire for the evening... (i.e. do the blog).

Also managed to read my cousin Rhonda's blog about the baseball/bowling/shopping trip she is on with her sister Cynde and my sister Carri in Vegas/Utah/Reno.. check it out here if interested... http://rhonncynadventures.blogspot.ca/  I am sure they are having a great time regardless of the baseball outcome :-)
