Sail Away #1

Managed to sleep in after a very long day yesterday. Hit Starbucks (across the street from our hotel) for our morning coffee and then prepped for our departure to the cruise port. Kelly also wanted to check out a neat little chocolate factory close to the hotel. We managed to find both and had a great little morning sit in the courtyard with our coffee and treats.

Walking down La Rambla
Luggage was packed up easily as we only added a few items to our bags. We checked out at noon and crossed La Rambla, the main pedestrian/road and quickly grabbing a taxi down to the cruise port.
Our ship is docked next to the Norwegian Epic. (right)
The luggage drop was straight forward and we quickly moved into the terminal for final processing. This was done by a young lady using an ipad to take our pictures and verify passports etc. All very quick!

Through the gauntlet of small shops and onto the ship stopping for a photo op with the staff. We entered onto Deck 5 which is the Promenade. The Next Cruise office was open and no one was in so... what the heck, get those next cruise credits lined up now! By booking a trip using this credit we get much better flexibility i.e. change cruises/dates etc. and payment schedule compared to the masses. Plus it gives us something to plan for :-)

Walking through the boardwalk area at the rear of the ship.

View from our interior balcony looking aft.

Amazing lighting in the dinning room.

Kelly checks out one of the many Royal IQ ipads that show valuable info on various ship amenities... and how to get to your room :-)
Climbing wall.
Kelly checks out the chairs at the water display.
Kelly enjoys her sail away tradition.. a Pina Colada!

Look out!

Dinner was at Chops Grill and was very good. The menu was different from our last experience but it did not disappoint us. We wandered the ship afterwards and checked out the various shops and amenities. We even watched the robot bartenders mixing drinks... I could use one at home!

Played some roulette and three card poker in the casino but the only thing we came away with was smelly clothes :-(   One of the downsides of gambling.... it's not healthy :-)

Off to bed as we swing into the local time zone... bike riding in Palma de Mallorca is on tap for tomorrow.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palma,_Majorca     yes I can't figure out the correct spelling either!

  3. As usual, looks like you are going to have a tough time keeping Kelly on the straight and narrow. Or the right side of the track.
