Off the ship at 8:55 and once at the front gate, we met our Civita Tours bus that will take us into Rome. 9:30 was our scheduled departure time but slow passengers delayed us until 09:40

Kelly relaxes as we await our departure to Rome. |
We toured the museum but the crowds were horrendous. The Sistine Chapel, with it's amazing artwork was simply beautiful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sistine_Chapel
We walked through numerous parts of the museum and took lots of pictures.
We left the museum and headed for the entrance to St. Peter's basilica.
This was much different that our last trip as we needed to exit the
Vatican Museum, walk around the walled city to the front. We had to then
clear security before being allowed in. Time was marching on and the
security lines moved very slowly. I decided that we should forgo the
visit as we would be getting rushed just like our last visit. Exactly
what I didn't want.
We gave up and then headed down one of the many small streets adjacent to the Vatican. Pasta overload at Borge 36 followed by some bakery treats. Look gelato! Yep one more before we leave Rome.

Parking anyone? |
We wandered the streets and people/shop watched until the appointed pick up time in front of the
Palace of Justice at 16:00. It was pretty much clock work as we arrived back at the ship at 17:40.
A quick stop for refreshments and up to our cabin to relax & blog a bit.
Went for a walk on deck and met some folks from Ireland. Had a nice chat then off to dinner.
Retired exhausted again :-)
